The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) on Thursday released its November/December results with a total of 86,612 candidates, representing 29.17% of the total number of candidates who sat for the examination, obtained credits in five subjects and above including English Language and Mathematics.

A man has doused himself with petrol and set himself on fire in St Peter's Square in the Vatican City.

The Vatican said on Thursday that the 51-year-old man had been treated at a nearby hospital and transferred to a larger one, with serious burns to the upper part of his body.

Suspected Cultist Kills OOU Lecturer

ABEOKUTA— Tragedy struck, yesterday, at the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, in Ijebu North area of  OgunState when a lecturer, Dr Segun Onabanjo, was  shot dead by suspected cultists.  Onabanjo who until his death was a senior lecturer at the Department of Sociology in the university, was said to have been killed by the assailants who stormed his residence in Odomolasa area of Ilese-Ijebu and broke into his home at about 1:00 a.m.
